일상에서 실천적으로 구성되는 생활세계는 개별 행위자들에게 근접해있는 사물들로 구조화된다. 그리하여 각 세계는 자신에게 속하는 공간의 공간성을 발견한다. 즉, 각 존재자의 생활세계는 특수한 기반을 형성하고 각자의 공간성에 귀속된다.
스스로 장소를 형성하는 공간 시간적 사물에서 존재를 부여하고 시간과 공간을 부여하는 일은 생산되고 장소화된 사물들을 매개로 해서 일어난다. 이로써 공간은 역사적으로 매번 다르게 장소화된다.
시간 공간적 사물들은 24시간과 1분을 기점으로 시간적 공정성을 확보하고 장소를 형성하며 자체적으로 그때마다 공간들에 자리를 부여한다. 부여되는 시간성과 공간성은 자신들의 형태가 사물들(프리즘, 붉은 빛)에서 강제당한다.
그것들에 사로잡힌 시각은 그것의 시간적 움직임 아래 공간 관계의 개시를 통하게 한다. 친숙했던 공간적 사물은 무효화에 이르고 새로운 공간성이 촉발된다. 위치들의 공간 부여적 힘과 존재의 장소화의 힘이 낯설게 출현한다. 휘어진 금속판에 반사된 장소들과 반성된 존재의 관계는 공간이 역사적 우연 속에서 인간 현존재를 규정한다는 사실을 지각하도록 한다.

In everyday life, the lifeworld is practically constituted and structured by the objects that remain proximate to individual agents. Thus, each world discovers the spatiality of the space that belongs to it. In other words, the lifeworld of each being forms a particular foundation and is assigned to its own mode of spatiality.
The act of conferring existence—and of granting time and space—to spatio-temporal objects that form places occurs through the mediation of produced and localized things. Through this process, space becomes localized differently each time, according to its historical conditions.
Temporal–spatial objects secure temporal integrity on the basis of twenty-four hours or a single minute, generate places, and at every moment assign positions within space. The temporality and spatiality thus conferred are compelled by the forms inherent in the objects themselves (the prism, the red light).
The gaze captured by these objects initiates the unfolding of spatial relations under their temporal movement. Spatial objects that were once familiar become invalidated, triggering the emergence of a new spatiality. The spatializing power of positions and the localizing force of existence appear in a state of estrangement.
The relationship between the places reflected on the bent metal plate and the existence mirrored therein allows one to perceive that space, within historical contingency, determines and configures human Dasein.
